Use:
Osteoporosis is a bone disease leading to an increased risk of fracture.
Osteoporosis is most common in women after menopause, when it is called postmenopausal osteoporosis, but may develop in men and premenopausal women in the presence of particular hormonal disorders and other chronic diseases or as a result of smoking and medications.
Osteoporosis itself has no specific symptoms; its main consequence is the increased risk of bone fractures.
Recommended For:
Individuals who have an abnormal calcium, phosphorus, and/or parathyroid hormone level or if you have evidence of bone disease or bone weakness.
