This test is used to evaluate thyroid function and assess abnormal binding protein disorders.
This test particularly examines the amount of Triiodothyronine (T3) that is not attached in proteins in the bloodstream. The T3 in the bloodstream exists in two forms; one attached to proteins while the other is in unattached state (or free). Along with Thyroxine test (the T4) it is used to examine the overall health of your thyroid gland.
Recommended For:
Suspected hypo/hyperthyroidism, monitoring treatment for hypo/hyperthyroidism.
