Personalabs wants to make sure you have a pleasant, stress-free experience when visiting the lab. Here are some tips on how to prepare and what to expect while getting local lab testing through Personalabs.
When visiting the lab, make sure you know where you are going. Currently, there are over 4,000 local lab testing locations to choose from. Use the Lab Locator to find the nearest testing facility, their phone numbers and hours of operation.
Appointments are not necessary, but may help to reduce wait times. If you wish to make an appointment, please keep in mind that the labs are usually busiest form when they open to around 10:00 a.m. It is recommended that you schedule your appointment after the peak hours to ensure less wait time, unless your blood test requires you to fast the night before. Also keep in mind that everyone needs to eat lunch, so most locations are closed between 12p.m. and 1p.m. nationwide.
Some blood tests require special preparation to ensure accurate results. You may have to fast for a period of time, avoid taking certain medications or supplements. Urine samples also require special preparation. Please refer to the “Special Notes” section included in each of our test profiles for detailed instructions.
What to Bring-
Your confirmation order is the only thing you will be responsible for, unless you are Drug or DNA testing, at which point you will also need to bring a photo I.D. You have three options in presenting your confirmation order:
1. Print the confirmation order and present a hard copy at the lab.
2. If you have a smartphone, you can present your order confirmation on your phone.
3. If you do not have access to a printer or smartphone, you can call 1-888-GET-LABS Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST and one of our customer service representatives will fax over a copy.
As previously mentioned, if you are getting a Drug Test or DNA Test, you must bring a U.S. federal (Passport) or state-issued photo ID (Driver’s License) to get tested.
While you are there-
The only cost you will pay is when you purchase your test(s) through our site. There are no hidden costs. You will not be charged another fee at the lab. If the lab requests your credit card, kindly tell them you are a Personalabs’ customer and show them your confirmation order.
Your role in the performance of a lab test is to provide a specimen that will be analyzed in a laboratory. The specimen you provide might be a small amount of a body fluid, such as blood, urine or semen, or a sample of stool. Rest assured that the staff at LabCorp are medically trained and will make the specimen collection process as safe, quick, and comfortable as possible while safeguarding your dignity and privacy.
As your lab manager, we want to make sure you have the best experience possible. If you experience anything less than that at a Labcorp facility, please let us know immediately and we will investigate the issue on your behalf.
Results Chasing Service-
Personalabs has a results chasing service for when your results are near overdue. You can use this service by logging into your Patient Portal and telling us when you plan on visiting the lab. This will notify the team at the office that your results are almost overdue and they will chase your results to make sure they are timely received.
